My life philosophy is centred around the art of non-doing. At first glance you may think that means that I’m sitting at Starbucks, sipping my latte, and staring into space. :-) What the art of non-doing actually means is that you are so tuned in (to spirit, or that bigger part of yourself) that you are doing exactly what you need to be doing in each moment. It is called ‘non-doing’ because when you are in the moment like this, it kinda feels like you’re not really ‘doing’ in the effortful way that doing often entails. In this way, we can be very efficient and productive, without over-burdening ourselves.
Part of the challenge is that the world is getting busier and faster, which means we often end up feeling like we have to ‘do’ a lot. We overextend ourselves, which often leads to anxiety, overwhelm, fatigue, and sometimes even burn-out.
I first became drawn to spirit in my 20’s. It was a difficult time for me, I was not thriving by any stretch of the imagination. The way that the world had taught me to ‘be happy’ was to drink more, eat more, or generally engage in activities that were not life-sustaining, nor fulfilling (quite the opposite!).
In an attempt to become happier, I began to seek out various spiritual teachings and philosophies to study from. Fast forward 25 years and I have been practicing meditation, yoga, breathwork, and nutrition on a daily basis. I studied with a spiritual teacher for over 16 years and have personally completed over 45 silent meditation retreats. For a time, I ran my own yoga and massage studio, and for the past 7 years, I was a Human Resources Manager of a large local Health Food chain, which gave me a sound understanding of the human side of the business world.
My goal is to serve women who are ready to make positive, lasting changes in their lives. Is this you? When I am not coaching women or running retreats, I can be found in the kitchen cooking up yummy food, playing with my adorable nephew, out walking in the woods, or on a tropical beach soaking up some sunshine.
